手に入れるものと，失うものと

原点に帰る意味もこめて，
珍しく引用を。

私は「今を生きる」で出会ったのですが，
「金持ち父さん貧乏父さん」で引用されたらしく，
知る人が増えたのは良いことなのか，悪いことなのか。
どうもあの本の読者層と，
フロストの想定する人たちとは別の気がします。

H.D.ソローの，
「森の生活」もまた好きです。
考えてみたら前に読んでから随分と経ちました。
今読んだら，
間違いなく全く別の感覚が現れるのでしょう。


手に入れられるもの，
経験できるもの，
そして，
失いつつあるもの，
機会を逃していくもの，


その時その時の決断の正しさや誤りについては，
時間が経過した後，
宣告が下されます。
事実だけが，冷徹に。
でもその事実すら，
受け取り方次第で，
その意味が異なってくるのでしょう。


その時に正しいと感じた道を進んできたことを，
後悔したことはありません。
正しいと感じた道を進まなかった時に，
後悔することになるのでしょう。


全然出典の重みは違いますが，
Aerosmithの"Amazing"という曲に，
“Life is a journey， not a destination.”
というフレーズがあります。
私はネイティブではないので正しい感覚は分かりませんが，
ふと何かを見失いそうな時，
自然に頭に浮かんできて，
焦りを冷静に直視させてくれる一文です。


さて，
私が進む道はどこに続いているのでしょう。
